![]() Millers Forge Nail Clipper By: Millers Forge Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 15 More Information Easy to use for novice trimmers These clippers are exactly as described. They work on both my small rat terrier and my large German shepherd. Id always been reluctant about nail clipping but also trying to cut expenses. I decided to give these a try and have had no problems. Get These, They Are The Best I have used lots of different nail trimmers, and these are my absolute favorite. They are super sharp and cut through even thick nails like butter. Since I have relatively small hands, they fit my hand well and are easy to handle, it doesnt require much force to cut. They are good for using on both small and large dogs, and even cats. There are more sturdy-looking nail trimmers out there, but they are not going to do a better job than these. With the small size of these trimmers, you can trim all the way around the quick of the animals nail, rounding it off and really taking it back to its absolute shortest. The only thing that will leave a smoother or shorter finish is a nail grinder, which I also like to use. If you are starting with very overgrown nail, use these first to take off most of the excess length and then use the grinder to smooth and shorten to the max. There are a couple of annoying things about these trimmers. One- they have a guard thing that is supposed to keep you from trimming the nail too short. Well, if you know what you are doing, you really dont need that. You can move it out of the way, but it might slip back into place and keep you from getting the nail to its absolute shortest, or block your view of what you are doing. Two- there is a little metal tab that serves to hold the trimmers closed, and it sometimes slips into place while you are trimming if you are holding the clippers upside-down. There really shouldnt be an "upside-down" at all, but there is with these trimmers. Even knowing about these little "quirks" I would still never buy any other trimmers. I really think these are the best. Not well made. Unfortunately this was used three times and then fell apart...my dog has normal claws and on the third attempt the clippers fell apart and hurt the dog. Cat is afraid of it It might be good for others. My cat doesnt like these. I cant get them anywhere near his paws. Less stress in cutting the nails of the dogs This item was recommended by our Vet who also uses this item in the office. It makes cutting thier nails much easier and quicker. Nail clipping, always a problem at out house. Nail clipping is always a dreaded procedure at our house. I have used the guillotine type (leaves split nails), and the new PediPaws product (too slow for cutting, smooths well). The Millers Forge Pet Nail Clipper came and is quite sharp; time will tell if it stays that way. It is not leaving split nails, but I have some difficulty seeing past the length guard (to keep you from cutting too short) to the actual toenail. I am clipping two dogs nails, one 18 pounds, and one 30 pounds, and I wonder if I would have been better off ordering the larger model, this one seems awfully light. But, so far it has clipped well; my preferred method over the first two mentioned. Dogs vote for no clipping, still. Disappointed after all the .... praises. It does not always give me a clean cut on my cats nails. I dont find myself using the stopped either. But they are OK. Great Seller - Product Maybe Not for Cats Everything about this seller was great - timely delivery, etc. I have two cats & I thought this product would be okay for them but after trying to use it on them I think it is indeed better suited to dogs whose nails are much thicker & longer. It does, however, look & feel like a quality product. I would not hesitate to use this seller again & I do recommend "him" to others. thanks! Ordered these for my mom to use on her chihuahua. They work well and are very sturdy. Id say theyre a long-lasting clipper for small dogs nails. They also have a guard on one side of the blades to limit how much is cut in one attempt which is nice not to injure a squirmy dog. pretty good cuts, one issue these are nice, but they could be better. they cut great, but the way the cutting part is, it kind of requires that more nail is made available. well not all cats are gonna like their knuckle smushed further than necessary. Mine is a little troublesome. Its a guaranteed product. the handles could be a little more thick or wide, they feel too narrow. I trust the quality, not so much the design. Could be better. Frankly its hard to find the right ones for cats. I thought these would be it. Ill keep my eyes open, but Im happy with how these cut for now. If there was a better choice i would have went with it. Good quality clippers Unlike past clippers Ive owned, these do not splinter my cats nails at all. Comfortable grip too. pet nail clipper Best pet nail clippers that I have found. They are quick, quiet and easy to hold. millers forge pet nail clippers Much better and easier to use than the guillotine type clippers. My pets nails are much easier to clip now. Good clippers Ive only used these on my small dog, a min pin. Im not sure how they would do on thicker nails, as on some of his thicker nails they seem to pinch a bit but maybe its my technique. I like that I can clearly see how much of the nail Im cutting and theyre very easy to use and nice and sharp. Wow! Nail clippers that actually work! I own three cats and a large breed dog. I have tried many clippers in the past, both guillotine style and scissor style (as well as human nail trimmers). I have had many problems with trimmers in the past... Either flat-out not working, splintering the nail, or making so much noise that they freaked out my cats. I bought this pair due to reviews of other models by the same company, their reasonable price, and out of sheer desperation for a pair that worked. I tried them the same afternoon as I got them and man, this set of clippers does exactly what it claims to do. They trim the nails neatly (no rough edges), they make very little noise (no loud clicks), and they are super sharp, so cut the nail quickly and efficiently. They have a safety lock (so they dont open when not in use) and a "safety guard"..although that is more appropriately sized for dogs verses cats (it is movable). They are also spring loaded and open and close very easily. The grips are not super padded, but trimming goes so fast with these that you wont be holding them for long. IMO, these would work well for cats up to medium sized dogs. They might not be the best choice for kittens or very small puppies due to their overall size (about 6" from tip to tip). I will definately be buying these again, but hopefully I wont need to buy another pair for a LONG time. |
