My cats think that this indeed is Cosmic catnip. Even the feral cat who slips in through the cat door to eat thinks that it is the best!

their small can is a lot of cat nip. my cats like many are coy and dont show excitement right away. but I catch them sneaking over for a little cat nip toy play.

Potent but Rough

I have two cats and I tried a variety of dried catnips, including this product. This product is more potent than the average, but is definitely rougher.

By rough, I mean they feel sharp and jagged. It has numerous bits of bigger part of the plant, like dried twigs. Most are about 1/3 of an inch, but I have seen some that were as long as an inch. some are hard enough to make it difficult to break them with your fingers. My cats like eating the catnips and I constantly worry about these possibly stabbing their throats or internal organs. I mean, if they are rough enough to hurt your fingers while you crush the catnips, they cannot be good for your cats. This bothers me enough that I think I will not be purchasing this brand any longer.

Which is too bad, because the catnips are potent and are priced very reasonably. Im not sure why the company doesnt run the product through a sieve or two to solve the issue.

In conclusion, if your cats just like sniffing and rolling in catnip, and if you dont crush catnip with your finger before giving it to your cats, then this product will be awesome--its very good quality and really nicely priced. If, however, your cats enjoy eating catnip, then I think you should look for other brands.

Great Catnip

I have found this brand to be the most consistent catnip on the market. My cat has always really responded much more to this brand than anything else Ive found. If your cat likes catnip it will love this Cosmic Catnip

Not good for my kitty

I had bought this along with a scratch mat from target to put catnip inside. The catnip that came with the target mat drove my cat crazy! She absolutely loved it. However, when that wore off I tried this cosmo catnip and... absolutely nothing. Obviously some catnip works for my cat, so I dont get why this stuff had no effect at all. Im not sure if it is my cat, but now I have a whole tub of this stuff and she is completely unimpressed. It might be worth a shot for others though.

My Cat's have become "Stoner's"

Well first let me tell you about the mistake that I made. I have a previous package of Comic Pet Catnip, but in a 2 oz size. Although the ad clearly says 4.5 oz, I assumed that the actual volume would be small...wrong!! The container is the size of a cottage cheese package and it was FULL. The mistake I made was that since the price was so low, I ordered TWO!. Now my cats are walking around going "Wow man", and smacking the dog around.

A friend recently brought over a gift for my dog....an unstuffed toy animal that looks sorta like a weasel or mink. She could care less about the thing. So I inserted 1/2 a package of the catnip, and sat back and watched the show. It was better than HBO.

This is a very large quantity (for a home) of quality catnip

We wanted a larger catnip than our local stores offered and werent disappointed with this product. It came sealed, and makes our cats very happy. A little goes a long way.

Be careful if using your hand to spread this catnip, the kitties may smell it on your fingers and nip a bit.

The round plastic container this catnip comes in has a seal, which we had to break to open. It is a very secure seal, but didnt require any tools to open, it is thick paper with a lot of glue. The catnip inside smelled very fresh, it is a lot of catnip for a home, there were no bags inside to open, the catnip inside the container was loose, dry and ready for use.

Princess Kitten's Day of Fun

This catnip is so potent my cat begs for it. We have to keep the container hidden away or she will try to pry off the lid with her teeth. After purchasing a "bulk" brand catnip at the local store, she turned her nose up and thought it was just terrible that we would expect her to go kitten wild over anything else.

Cosmic Catnip is the one she loves and she will literally eat it out of the container by the mouthful if we let her. It is interesting that cats in nature actually eat wild catnip to aid with digestion. They recommend a tablespoon, but a teaspoon seems to be enough to make any cat a little bouncy and playful. Princess will nibble on some from the container and then we sprinkle some on the floor and she rolls around and acts like she is in kitten heaven.

This is also good for toys and you can roll a toy in the catnip and your cat should be occupied for quite a while. While this herb makes cats wild, I drink a catnip tea and it seems calming.

The catnip looks fresh and gives the desired effect. I give my cat a little once a week so this tub will keep me supplied for a while.

Many of my cat-owner friends recommend all sorts of brands, fresh stuff, buds only, etc. Supermarket & department store brands simply dont work or arent real catnip.

With years of cat experience, IMHO, Cosmic Cat catnip is the best. The cats go nuts over it.

At this price for such a large container of the stuff, the kitties are gonna be very happy for a long time.

CAUTION: Cats cannot control themselves with catnip. If you give them too much, & get scratched or bit, dont hit them. They cant help it... its the catnip. If they play too rough (even without catnip) just walk away & ignore them until they calm down a little. Theyll eventually figure out that you wont play if it gets too rough.

With catnip, place your hands near their nails & teeth at your own risk!

Sometimes I find slivers or pieces of stems or sticks in the catnip (all brands). Do give them to the cat, throw them away. The cat can choke on them or they can get stuck in their throat.

Dont let your cat inhale or snort the catnip by giving them gobs of it all at once. You can always give them more after they finished what they already got. You dont want that stuff in their nose & lungs. If they snort, sneeze or cough, give them less.
