![]() K&H 1070 Lectro-Soft Heated Outdoor Bed, Small By: K&H Manufacturing Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 42 More Information The cat is pretty happy I bought this based on reviews knowing that there was a chance the cat wouldnt like it. I used it to start the process of civilizing a feral cat, getting him used to the comforts of home. Once he figured out that he had heat he was hooked! Scarlett loves the heated outdoor bed purchased from Amazon My cat,Scarlett, loves this bed and if she is not outside doing cat things, she is laying on this warm bed. It is soft and comfortable. I put it in her regular bed and she now lays no where else. It came with a really nice cover, and I am very happy with the purchase. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make their cat happy. Barbara Hartman Great warming pad for outdoor kitties I have two semi-feral cats who live in my backyard. They are quite hardy, but the really cold days of our Northeastern winters can be tough on them. These heated pads create a little oasis of warmth that have become the cats favorite spot. The pads are just the right size for one cat, so when I had only one pad, there was a constant conflict about who would get the prime territory. Now with 2 pads, both cats stay warm and happy. The only down side is that the pads do seem to require quite a bit of electricity since my power bill has definitely gone up since I hooked up the pads. But I think it is worth when I see the kitties sleeping peacefully in the middle of a blowing snowstorm. Happy Cats Imagine being an outdoor cat...jumping into your bed...and finding the same blanket. Only this time, that blanket is warm! Both cats that I have outside love this heated pad, and sleep better than I believe they have in a long time. One was actually snoring the other night, so I think he was happy. This heated pad is wonderful. The material it is made out of is strong, and so far has stayed puffed up with air. I like the fact that it is easy to clean, and can be deflated and stored when not in use. The cord is inside a wire coil which protects it from damage. If you are looking for a soft, heated pad for your cat or a small dog, this is the one for you! One Happy Kitty! In late summer we adopted a stray cat. My husband is allergic to cats, so she had to be an outside cat. She has a nice large garage to live in but with no heat. When the weather changed to bitterly cold I worried about her staying warm so I ordered the K&H Lectro-Soft Heated Ourdoor Bed. She loves it and is always so warm when I pick her up. I was concerned that it might affect our power bill, since it is always on-day and night. I have not been able to tell any difference in the bill. I now sleep better knowing that she is warm. Cat-Mat This is a great product. The only thing I personally would have liked is a removable cover to wash since this is for my outside cat. Out door cat love it. We have a rescue cat that Ive never touched or even gotten close to, but she loves the little house with this Heated Bed in. It is good for us to know that she can in out of the cold winter snow and wind and be a little safer and warmer. Why do people have pets and not care for them? Kitty loves it!!! My poor ol porch cat loves a warm spot all year long. This is it! great product! I purchased this to put in a small box for our outside cats. It is a nice small air pad with heat in it when they lay on it. They seem very happy with it. On cold snowy days they only come out to eat! I highly recommend it! Happy Wild Cat! We take care of a wild cat who has been around our woods & house for many years now. Shes a very social cat, and able to hunt for herself and find places to keep warm, but winters here in VA can be very unpleasant. I have purchased small cat pads before, but the raccoons would enter the garage and snatch them away (a mystery for the longest time!) Her latest bed was heftier with tall sides to keep her safe from the wind that may come into the garage; whilst the raccoons couldnt quite get the entire thing out of the garage, they were able to take the pad within. Instead of purchasing a replacement pad, I decided I would give this heated bed a try. It fits perfectly into the confines of her walled bed, is of a substantial enough weight that I dont think it will be dragged off by other wild creatures, plus our cat LOVES it!!! She no longer curls up on the cars to soak up engine heat:) Plus, because shes curled up on it so often to keep out of rain, ice and snow, we have cut back on the amount of food we give her until shes able to get back to being more active (saving us money in the long run!). The bed is well made - soft fleece covering that can be removed and tossed in the wash, plus the heater is safe and provides just enough heat to keep her happy and comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone with an outdoor pet/wild cat visitor. Thumbs up. My dog loved the bed. When I step out she usually sits on the couch, but on this occasion when I returned home I was happy to find her on the heated bed. It warms up just enough, but takes a couple of minutes. Heated outdoor bed I bought this for the wild cat that lives in our garage and she sits on it all the time. Only gets off it if she is eating or if we get too close to her. It is so cold outside (9 degrees F) and I feel so much better knowing that this poor cat has some warmth in her life. I would recommend it. Little Interest I do not know if it is the product or my cat but he would have nothing to do with this bed. I would have returned the bed except for the reduction in the purchase price plus a 15% restocking fee plus the return shipping charge so I guess it will just go in the closet. Perfect Solution for an Outdoor Cat I bought this bed about a month ago for my outdoor cat that sleeps in the garage during the winter. The cat has been on it day and night, absolutely loves it. I opted for this model because its flexible. It easily fits inside a standard pet house. I like that it comes with a cover too. I would highly recommend this product. Cats love these!!! I live in MN with a fair share of cold winters. My outdoor cats spend all day and night on these. Not quite sure how warm they actually get in sub zero temps. I must say though I have one 17 year old cat. Who is no doubt healthier in the winter now having a warmer place to sleep. Can not comment much about durability being this is the first winter i have purchased these. I have no regrets as of yet. The cats seem to love them. Heating pad for cat Love the heating pad, however I wish it got warmer so to be more comfortable for our cat in the colder weather. Recommend this product for warmer climate states that do not get below freezing. Oh so warm Both my garage cats are in love with this warm bed. It is true to the description and only gets warm when they lay on it. Sure didnt take Pearl long to get used to it. I have trouble getting her outside in the fresh air now. Cat's Out Now Our indoor cat who is now out on the deck loves this heated pad, and she now prefers being outside than inside. I like the fleece cover it came with and the chew-resistant cord. The size small I ordered is perfect for a cat. Outdoor cat bed The feral cat I am feeding loves this once he realized it was warm. It is smaller than it looks in the picture but he is very small so it doesnt matter. A huge cat might need a bigger bed. The only issue is that it did not self inflate, even after an hour, so I blew it up manually which wasnt hard. Seems to be an issue with the plug which you have to be careful not to break. Did not realize this was an air bed when I ordered it and probably wouldnt have ordered it if I had known. But it works fine for its purpose which was for the cat. We will see if it holds up through the winter in the doghouse. I hope for the cats sake it does. It did not seem particularly durable. The price is good so I would recommend this. I have two Just bought another this year since I acquired another cat. My outdoor cats love it, it keeps me from worrying about them getting too cold at night, and its maintenance free-- just plug it in and leave it. Highly recommended. Warm bed for an Old Faithful Cat-Friend My outdoor cat, Jam, loves her new, warm eletric heating pad. I got the small and it fits perfectly in the small dog house she stays in in the winter. She is at least 15, maybe 16, and I just want her to be toasty warm this winter. This bed is a winner. Misleading Specifications Just received my cats KH-1070 Lectro Soft Outdoor Bed-Small from Amazon. Amazons listed spects says it (Approximately 40 Watts). The box I received says it only 20 Watts. HELLO>>> This is (HALF) the rated product that I payed for. I feel Ive been cheated and miss lead from Amazons sight. Don Barbee heating pads for ferals Last February, I purchased 3 of the electric heating pads for outdoor use in the shelters for our 5 feral cats. When I put them out again this past week for this coming cold weather, only one heats nicely. Of the other two, one hardly heats at all and the other heats only in a few spots - nothing like it did last winter. The cats do love these pads and we are grateful for them since the ferals sleep outside in freezing weather. Thought it would be warmer.... Well, I had reservations but I went ahead and pushed the "buy" button against my better judgment and it turns out I was right. Its not all that and a bag of chips! First, its not very warm. My wonderful older cat who is arthritic and always cold, thinks this pet bed a joke and looks at me like I am crazy when I put her on this thing. Shes right, I must have been crazy to buy something like this. Its lukewarm at best. And cats are finicky anyway and very suspicious of things so, she is not buying this thing even though her wary owner bought it. Lesson learned here, if you doubt it--dont buy it. It was an expensive mistake. She absolutely loves my old heating pad (for humans) because its warm. I have never used it for her specifically--but in using it for myself, she will lean against it (and me) and she is oh so happy. I read the warnings that say cats are not suppose to lay on heating pads (for humans) because they are too hot but then why has she been able to tolerate my heating pad especially, since she is choosing to lay next to it on her own? My advice is, if you have a very independently minded-finicky cat--dont buy this item. Even if they may get some benefit out of it, its not warm enough to attract them to it--like a sun spot does. K&H should have created this with a higher warm-up mode to attract the cat and once they are attracted to the warmth, then the temp either goes lower or can be turned down to a lower setting for sleeping. If you touch your cat while they are sleeping in a sun spot, their fur is very, very warm not lukewarm. Obviously, they can take more heat than this heated mat offers. My cats move in and out of sun spots during the day in the winter from passive solar through a big glass window with southern exposure. So, they are regulating their own warmth and know when to move when it gets too warm for them. Cats know authentic warmth and you cannot keep them from it if they discover a warm spot so, this mat is not warm enough to attract them. Maybe it will work better for outdoor cats but for indoor cats, I am doubtful. A fleece blanket is just about as warm as this thing and more comfortable as well. Frankie, the feral cat, thinks he is in heaven!! We have a new feral cat hanging around lately. With winter coming I decided to buy him a bed because he doesnt seem to want to go into the dog house (no dog). We put this on the bench near our front door and he is the happiest cat in town. He even comes back during the day to take a mid-day nap! Great product. He loves it. His fur is toasty when he gets up. I would recommend it to others with roaming cats. My small dogs LOVE this product My girls each have one now - and they really love them. It keeps them toasty at night in their beds. Life Saver We put this heater in a small insulated outside pet house for a small, "dropped off" cat we adopted, but can not bring into our home. Since the tempature falls into the single digits at night here, we wanted to give the little guy a chance to survive. He seems to love it, and spends every night a little warmer than he would otherwise be. ITGREAT!!! Great for outdoor cat Comes as sort of an air bed that you can determine how much air is inside, includes free fleece cover that isnt shown in picture that appears washable. Very well made for price. Hard to tell it is heating until animal is on it, but once he did, he stayed on it all night long in unheated detached garage. Just have to watch he doesnt tear at the cover. Unsure what a dog might do, however. The small size is perfect size for a cat. Small size also is 20W, not 40W as listed. Attractive to Cats I like this (and so do my kitties). I bought it for my two small/medium-sized cats that sleep in an unheated basement. They use it alot. They have no complaints! The Dog loves it! I got this for my dog that sits in the garage all day rain or shine. She appreciates the heat from this blanket as the winter gets blustery! Heated Cat Bed This heated cat bed is WONDERFUL! The whole bed is heated, not like the other "heated" beds Ive purchased with only the 4"x14" heated strip in it. I purchased the medium size and love it so much Ive ordered another medium and large size for our four ferral "garage" cats. Highly recommend this bed for keeping your cats warm. It was great....at first. When the mat first arrived I thought, this is weird, but then after following the instructions for set up, I thought it was pretty cool. Only problem was, after use for about a month, the mat lost its heat, and the foam pad inside kept shifting, twisting and bunching up. Im thinking the twisting and such might have caused some problems with the wiring inside and thats why it lost its heat. Ultimately, I am returning it and probably going to buy one of the hard "Original Lectro-Kennel" pads. I have a small one for my rabbit, and even though its hard, I just toss a little blanket over it and he likes it so hopefully I can toss a thin pad over the hard Lectro-Kennel warming pad and still get a little softness and the warmth too, without the problems. Linda Great heating pad for our indoor/outdoor kitty who sleeps in the garage. I put it in his little Igloo, and wow, he loves it. The one I had before was smaller, and less warm, this one warms more when he lies on it, and I know that helps him on cold nights because he is 14 years old, and a bit more arthritic than when he was younger, like the rest of us. Worth every penny! Warm, durable, and comfy! Although I cant get it to "inflate" to my satisfaction, my dog often chooses this pad over his other more plush bed... even when its not plugged in. Saving feral lives 1 mom + 3 kittens...they found it in 5 minutes and it is saving their lives this cold winter. Fashioned a house out of large storage container...cut an entrance, placed pad inside, put top on and all 4 warm & safe. Highly recommend! Cat heating pad This heating pad is ideal for outside cats. It is the perfect size to place inside a cozy spot, and it supplies enough wattage to provide heat even in the coldest of weather. My cat loves it My cat loved this product from the first moment she lay on it. Now shes hard to get into the house! So far so good... May work for a toothless dog... ...but unfortunately mine has teeth! He made short work of it...what a big waste of money! Save your money folks...poorly designed and constructed!!!! Much Better than I Expected I have been very pleased with this heated bed. I use it in an insulated kennel for a stray cat and he spends most of his day there. I would definately purchace the bed again. K&H Small Lectro Bed Is Great Located in kitchen for use by over weight 20 lb, almost three year old min pin. She loves it and even sleeps late while on it. Came with a free cover that dog has tattered a bit, but the pad and electric connection cord appear sturdy enough to last for years. With this pad we feel confortable in keeping our night time thermostat at 67 degrees. This dog craves warmth. My Cat Loved the Heated Outdoor Bed Immediately My 13-year-old cat took to the Lectro Soft Outdoor Bed as soon as I placed him on it. After a day or two with it on my covered front porch, I moved it inside his kitty house on that same porch--a kitty house he generally avoided in the past. Now hes in it all the time! (I also created an area with straw toward the front of his kitty house, but he chooses to nestle behind the straw on the heated bed that rests on the flat bottom of the house.) works well i bought this for a cat that spent some time on our porch in the michigan winter. it did warm up, not too hot though. she seemed to like it. very nice, but id much prefer any animal that had to use this is brought indoors. if its cold enough to warrant a heater, then bring your pet indoors, you idiot! K&H Lectro Soft Outdoor Bed This pet bed is terrific! It is/does everything the manufacturer states in the ad. I couldnt be happier about our decision to purchase this pet bed for the "stray" cat weve been feeding. Smaller then I thought The heated dog bed is smaller then I thought. The cover that comes with it easily falls off when my dog adjusts his bed. I do think that it keeps him warm in my unheated garage on the cold MN days! I think this would be a good thing to have inside or out for an older arthritic dog too. Baby, It's Cold Outside! I purchased the K&H Large Lectro Soft Outdoor Bed so my indoor dogs would have a warm place to snuggle when they are outside. It has worked wonderfully, and I am very happy with my purchase. Sometimes I will see four to five of the papillons curled up on it. It makes outside playtime much more comfortable for little paws. This is a heated air matress The bed is okay. First off, the bottom is always a lot more warm than the top, which seems rather silly to me. The bottom has the cord attached along with a plastic air valve. As it is an air matress, it makes a crinkly sound when my dog steps on it, which I find to be rather annoying, and some pets may find offsetting. The pad is thin and despite the "soft" in the title, it isnt. I ended up having to put a soft dog bed underneath the "bed" so that my great dane would use it. In short: this isnt a bed, its a heating pad that is insulated by a small amount of air so that it doesnt have to use as much power. If youre looking for something that your animal will find super comfortable, this probably isnt it. Good Product My 10 year cat loves this. She loves being out in the back yard on the porch and wants out there all the time. But it being winter, its too cold for her to stay very long at all, which makes her most unhappy. She is constantly wanting out, then in, then out, then in. But with the bed, and the fleece cover on it, she can curl up on it and stay outside longer. As soon as I let her out, she goes over and sits on it, so she is getting good use of the bed. Im glad I got this for her, now I wont worry about her getting too cold too quickly. Everything that I expected, and more One of our cats, that often prefers to be outdoors at all times of the year, is using this on our covered deck when the weather is colder. The merchant (Revival Animal Health) delivered in a very timely fashion. Although not clear in the product description, it did include a fleece cover for the pad. nice heater if your dog doesn't chew this heater was great except for the fact that the dog chewed it up . nice heater if your dog doesn't chew this heater was great except for the fact that the dog chewed it up . |
