My cats really do love this toy. They get very animated while chasing it, and jump pretty high in the air to try to catch it. It makes a wonderful sound, like the flapping of wings, which they find fascinating. I just wish the metal head that holds the feathers was not so heavy... it can hurt the cat if it hits them in the head. You really do have to be careful when you or your children swing it around. Its best it you just play gently with it, and not swing it around roughly or without a care.

Its hard to find this in stores, but its the best string-teaser toy around. Most of the replacements are junk, short sticks and lame toys on the end, but this is the real deal. Feathers are canted to make them spin through the air, and best of all theyre replaceable so you can swap out just the feathers once your felines shred them.

My two cats love this toy but it doesnt last very long. Either the feathers get ruined, which can be replaced on their own, or the tip that helps hold the cord on the end of the wand comes apart and I have to replace the whole thing. Ive even had a wand snap while twirling the toy around to make that sound they like which the other review mentioned. Granted I think my cats are particularly hard on their toys so YMMV. Though the first one I got lasted much longer than all the others so maybe the qualitys gone down since then.

Our cat had been getting bored and somewhat depressed, being left alone while we were at work. Upon the recomendation of our Vet, we purchased the "Feline Flyer." It had her jumping and twisting through the air trying to get at the "bird" Her disposition has improved since. I have tried other products since and similiar products work as well (including "Da Bird"). My only word of caution: your cat will have a compulsion to chew on the feathers--it probabely wont hurt, but it can become hard on the wallet having to buy new ones. If you havent tried it yet, and your cat is bored with his/her toys, give it a try.

This is an amazing cat toy like no other. It is basically a high quality springy rod with a nice rubber grip, a sturdy (but thin cord) and an "attachment." Attachments are affixed using a chain similar to one found on a rabbits food good luck charm.
Its this chain and attachment that make this toy the addictive thing that it is. The attachment is two offsetting feathers that when pulled thru the air mimic a bird in flight (even with feathery flapping noises). Cats immediately pick up on this and go into instinctive hunting mode. I dont think that they catch on that its not an actual bird. This behavior is so authentic that when a "catch" is made, the cat tries to carry its prey off and hide even with growling noises. They really believe that they have something.
My cats are thoroughly addicted to this toy and I am not exaggerating in the least. Caution does need to be exercised a little bit in that you can seriously exhaust a cat as he wont stop. I have never seen my cat pant like a dog until they played with this.
Go get this for your cat. They will really appreciate it.

This past week we decided to have a "Princess Kitten" day of fun. That being, Princess Sasha seemed bored and needed a little kitten spa vacation. We bought her a number of toys and treats and this was one of the unique products I found for her.
The level of kittenish excitement in the house was at a low level the day before we introduced this new toy to Princess. To say she loved it is to make an extreme understatement of the worst order. I have NEVER seen any cat act so excited about any toy Ive ever purchased. Here are the reasons:
1. The feathers twirl through the air and make a whirring sound.
2. The feathers seem to be like a bird in flight and a cats hunting skills are
suddenly awakened to the highest degree.
We laughed in amusement at the way Princess eyes changed and how absolutely wild she started to act. It was as if she basically went into "super hunting mode."
When we put the toy away she sat up on the table (we let her) and looked longingly at the toy we had set atop a picture frame. This is not a toy you want to leave around the house. The best place to store it is above a door or out of reach in a closet.
We have purchased two of these types of toys in the past, but I think this one is superior because of the feather spinning action. You can also replace the feather toy very easily and that makes this toy inexpensive in the long run.
I think Princess thought yesterday was the best day of her life. She adores this toy and begs for us to take it down from the "not so secret" location.
If you have friends who love cats, I cant think of a more appropriate gift for any occasion.

This is just a great toy for any cat. My cat loves to chase, stalk, and pounce anything I drag behind me. With these wand toys, you can even amuse your cat while watching TV--just dangle the toy over the side of the couch or move it across the floor in front of you. This toy comes with one attachment on the end of the string, but you can buy other attachments when it wears out, or to add some variety to your cats playtime. Its also great exercise for cats that arent allowed outdoors.
