She didnt really notice it was there. After she did though she proceeded to pull it off. The collar snaps together fairly well, but it is easy to adjust the size to be big enough for her to slip her head through. Shes not used to collars, so its not like shed like it anyway. Hands Down the Best Collar  On: 2008-09-10Hands down the best cat collar Ive found to date! My cat and I came to a resolve when she insisted on being an outdoor cat... a collar. I was using various basic collars until I noticed that she was losing fur around her neck. Other times I found crust (as if she scratched it or it rubbed her to rough). Since I spoil her with everything I figured it was time to find the best collar too. Checked [...] and other places and everyone seemed to have collars with hip designs but nothing really to help the irritation if wearing a collar 24/7. This is the collar I have been looking for. It is light and durable. It doesnt tightly wrap around her neck but loops around with the id tag sitting loosely on her chest. It has the breakaway feature so my little huntress doesnt get caught in anything while on the run. I bought 3 more. The Red with blue white speckle is adorable. :) Her fur is growing back and she is at her happiest... and I have one less thing to worry about :) P.S.: There have been complaints on other reviews about the collar not breaking away - they fixed that some time ago so it snaps off easily. My Cat Lost This Collar in One Month!  On: 2008-08-30I am still looking for a collar for my outdoor cat that wont come off and get lost. Its been only a month, and both cats showed up without their collars. These collars are pretty, but it wont stay on for long. Dont buy it and put on your city pet license tag, because you will most certainly lose it. Great product but....  On: 2008-08-16I love that these collars are now breakaway, but the old collars were much better quality. The rope material for the old collars was of much higher quality but the old collars werent breakaway. Because the rope from the new collars is not of the best quality, the clamps keep slipping and making the collar larger than it should be. Thanks for making them breakaway but please go back to the other rope! thx. Years of use; great product! On: 2008-06-09I have purchased several of these collars for different cats over the years, and as gifts for my friends cats. I have one active, outdoor cat who has had his red bikini collar for almost 4 years, and it still looks great. When it gets dirty, I toss it in the washing machine, and viola! It looks like new. The sturdy nylon and round profile keep it looking good through many scratching and grooming sessions. Only one of my cats has ever broken one -- she caught it on a tree branch and it broke away, as expected, and I fount it hanging there the next day. Its wonderful for long-haired cats, since it doesnt mat the fur. The best part is, it fits kittens at about 8 weeks of age. For the price, you cant beat this collar. Nice lightweight collar On: 2008-02-29Hi, this company and collar are great! The collars are small, thin, and lightweight. Perfect for cats! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! On: 2007-10-29I ordered 2 of these collars recently. one is almost 2" smaller than the other although they are "one size" fits all. THEY DO NOT BREAK AWAY when snagged. I like the thinness, but it could kill your cat! Do Not Buy This! On: 2007-10-17This product is dangerous for your animal! It is not a safety collar! Fantastic! On: 2006-12-20Great collar. Both my cats have had theirs for over two years and have no complaints. Classy looking functional collar On: 2006-11-12I ordered this collar because I didnt like the looks/design of the kitty collars I found in the pet stores. Also, at the time my kittens (I have two) were only 12 weeks old, so I was looking for a collar that would adjust with their growth. Im happy to report that this collar (I ordered two, in different colors) has been great. Even the vet noticed the collar and remarked how neat it is. The collar looks really sharp and has a nice sized metal loop for hanging an ID tag, etc. Both kittens took to this collar just fine (it was their first collar) and I have been able to let the collar out a bit as theyve grown. I also like the fact that theres no "extra collar" hanging out past the buckle -- the collar just forms a big loop around the kittys neck. The only issue Ive had is one of the collars is a bit hard to adjust -- but overall Ive been very pleased. This collar almost killed my cat On: 2006-09-25Beware! This collar does not break away, and is not safe. This morning my kitty became entangled in part of my sons toy tent. The collar did not loosen or breakaway, and the cat was unable to breathe until my husband cut the collar and freed her. Very scary. Had we not been home she would not have made it. Ive had problems with the collars with the safely clasps because the cats figured out how to snap them off, and no matter how tight or loose they were would take them off at least once a day. The one cat even figured out how to get out of the kind of collar that has a buckle. On my cats these collars dont stay tight, either because the cats loosen them or the collars do it own their own, but the cats dont seem to mind wearing them anyway because they are so light an unobtrusive. Since they are large cats, it still fits them fine even at its loosest setting- not tight but not falling off, and doesnt irritate them (they never scratch at it) or cause knots in their (medium-length) hair. I would recommend the collars for other large cats, though I cant speak to how well the collar would work for a smaller cat. Loosened easily, but still a good collar. My kitty is full grown, but still tiny. The regular collars are uncomfortably thick and dig into his neck. He was always scratching at them. This collar is so thin that it disappears into his fur and no more scratching! Yet its still just as functional as other collars. Sliding mechanism is great too. Easy to put on, easy to tighten, but doesnt come loose when its not supposed to. Im going to buy another one for my newly adopted kitten. Thanks! |
