![]() Spot ''Micro Mouse'' Radio Controlled Mouse Cat Toy By: SPOT Average Rating: 2.0 Total Reviews: 23 More Information Great concept, but it doesn't work The mouse has a very cute face and tail, the wireless remote control is also cutely designed. When the mouse does run, it runs fairly easily with the controls and moves in enticing patterns. However, the cons far outweigh any pros. First and most importantly, the charge only stays for about one minute before it runs out, which is obviously way to short for any type of play session with your cats. Also, the wheels pick up cat hair fairly easily and can impede the mouses movement. Its not worth getting up and re-charging the mouse over and over again for what you get out of it. Going to have to say save your money on this one, definitely not worth it. Dear mouse I put batteries in it charged up the mouse as instructed, tested the controls wheels spun forward wheels spun backwards, front wheels turned left but when I tried a right turn the mouse died, have not been able to get it to do anything more, going to bury it sometime today, not worth the effort to send it back. One of the best toys in our cat toy collection! Not sure why this toy has a low user review, but I purchased it anyway (been using it for about a month) since I was looking for something small and remote controlled to play with our cat. We tend to spoil him so weve accumulated quite a variety of toys and this is one of the few that he still gets excited about. A few tips about this toy: 1. The mouse holds a notably longer charge after the first few recharges, so dont judge its charging capacity until youve drawn down and recharged a couple of times. 2. Its quite zippy and works well on hard wood floors, not well on carpet. Hair does get wrapped around the wheel/axles, but I just use a tweezer to remove them periodically and the mouse is good as new. 3. Theres a small lever on the bottom of the mouse that allows you to calibrate the direction of the mouses front wheels at its "natural" position. This allows you to correct any turning bias it may have. 4. Our cat loves it when you combine the mouse with a large sheet of paper (like a newspaper). Crinkle/bend the edges of the paper up, so you can zip the mouse underneath it; wait a few seconds and watch your cat go into ninja pounce mode to attack and try to dig out/bat the mouse under the paper. Worthless Product Wasted money! I had to get two replacements before I received one that worked ... somewhat. The unit does not hold a charge, the recharge connection is the most poorly designed thing I have ever seen. Im in the process of getting my money back battery powered trash cute idea at best. my cat jumped on it twice, and that was all she wrote. cant take much cat hair, either; but then, who has cat hair on the floor anyway? Marginal Mouse Worked great at first but with each re-charging it seems to function less and less. Good Idea -- Poorly Made Worked great for a short while. Now that the cats are interested in it, it doesnt hold the charge any more. What a disappointment to both me and my cat. Terrible Product I was super excited about getting this toy because I thought it would be so much fun for my 2 cats. I couldnt get the toy mouse on the charger first of all; not user friendly at all. It was so frustrating trying to get the mouse to even attach to the charger! It worked for the first day and then wouldnt move at all. Plus my cats were afraid of it! I am going to take this back right away and get back my 15 dollars!!! Not worth the struggle Unscrewed the case, added batteries, then tried (unsuccessfully) to line up the mouse for charging...got a few flickers to tell me I was on the right track, but eventually returned the product. Don't waste your money Dont even bother wasting your money. Get a cat something it can actually play with, like fly swatter. Works for a little while This is a great idea but its very cheaply made. The charge doesnt last long and cat hair clogs the wheels. It works best on non-carpeted surfaces. Its an ok toy if you dont mind taking it apart and cleaning out the cat hair. But, my cats love this mouse so Ive continued to buy new ones after they break. Im on my 4th mouse in less than a year. First one stopped taking the charge, the second one would only turn left, 3rd one never worked from the beginning. Im looking for a little R/C car to replace the mouse all together. Didn't last long The cat was afraid of this at first and was more of a toy for the cats owners. Once the cat took interest in this product, the remote controls small parts broke off. Just a cheap product to keep humans entertained that doesnt work for very long. Catch the nouse This is a grand toy--at least on uncarpeted floors. The cats go wild over this mouse. So funny to watch. mouse the dogs like it but my big boxer wants to eat it the little boxer just chases it Catch the nouse This is a grand toy--at least on uncarpeted floors. The cats go wild over this mouse. So funny to watch. Trash! After one day of use this toy is now in the garbage. Basically to much cat hair gets trapped into the wheels which causes it to stop working. It was also rather loud and the cat wasnt a fan of that. This may seem like a fun toy but you are better off getting something else. Trash! After one day of use this toy is now in the garbage. BUT (i know you all saw that coming) the poor toy doesnt have enough power. The mouse charges from the base unit which is powered by two AA batteries. Because of this the charge runs out after 2 to 3 minutes and it must be recharged on the base (which takes 45 seconds). Once you figure out the pattern you can usually get it to return before the charge runs out. If not then you have to keep getting up to fetch it (which I think my other cat found very amusing). This is a fantastic idea but the power source needs to provide more time and energy and the steering takes a minute to get used to. Its also fragile and while mine still works after the first day it is starting to crap out. If anyone else finds a mouse this size and this fast but with a much longer life, please let me know! Get an RC race car instead This toy took forever to remove from the package. It never really worked well, it always kept dying. I used an insane amount of batteries trying to get it to work. I finally threw it out, my cat didnt ever like it anyways. Oh well Remote Control Mouse Toy - DOA The recipient of this gift stated that it took her 45 minutes to get the mouse to work. Then she kept pumping batteries into the toy, only to have it die after a few minutes. The toy was broken on the first day. Dead on Arrival! Sounded like a great idea for an indoor cat. Not worth your money I bought this for my cat last year. And frankly she loved it, however it broke almost instantly. The wheels in the front stopped it from working and then it was worthless. It appeared to be quite cheaply made, I would stay away from this item if you are looking for a long lasting cat toy. GREAT TOY (but make sure you put it away afterward) I love this toy and so does my kitten! I have tried numerous moving mouse toys such as the cy-purr mouse and the battery opreated mouse in the plastic ball but he didnt like those because they are way to slow. He chases it everywhere and especially likes to swat it when it goes too close to his food bowl. The only problem with this is that it is small and white and so is the kitchen floor where it works best. I forgot to put it away and a few hours later I stepped on it so now im buying another. Hopefully this one will last more than 2 days. Not worthwhile as a ferret toy I bought one of these from a local store after seeing it advertised here as a Ferret Chase Toy. Sure, my ferrets chased it, caught it, then stuffed it away under the sofa to be forgotten. Its just too slow for ferrets, and they get bored quickly with this toy. You are better off with a small and fast R/C car. Suprisingly - an excellent toy. There are three cats in my shared apartment; and I purchased the toy as more of a joke than for cat entertainment. I didnt figure this toy to be of value, when I wasnt behind the control. Suprisingly, all three cats love this toy. They team up to bat it around, carry it in their mouths, etc. The three cats range from rather portly and slow to hyperactive - all three enjoy the Micro Mouse in his/her own cat way. Enjoy! Maybe look for something else. My cat didnt enjoy this at all. She seemed more scared then anything else. My sister and I had a better time steering it into things and scaring family members with this item, then the kitten did playing with it. Its more for the owner then the cat. |
