![]() Feline Fantasy Brush By: M&M Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 13 More Information Bristle Grooming Arch Super Cat Accessory! All 4 of my cats love this, sometimes they sit and scratch for literally 10 minutes, run through the arch, or give it a quick rub when walking by. The bristles are a little stiff, and they DO chew on it, but it looks like it massages their gums and teeth (bonus!). I put catnip in it when I first set it up, but havent refreshed in the year since then. It could stand to have a larger base, but my girls love it with a passion. We got 2 of the cats after wed set it up and they were fine with using it even with the straaange cat fur already there. I had a hard time tracking it down; I was going to buy it before Xmas last year, but decided to wait. By the time I got around to it, not ONE store near me had it (and didnt for a month or 2 I kept looking after that). I knew my cats would prefer the bristle style to the flat plastic arches. Im thinking about picking up another in case they go into hiding again. good scratcher After sprinkling a little loose catnip on the base, my usually reticent-to-try-new-things cat started sniffing, rolling around on, and loving the fantasy brush. He wants it in the middle of the room, now, and really likes rubbing against it. My picky cats ignore it :( I have two cats. One of them loves to rub against everything so I thought she would enjoy the Feline Fantasy Brush. When I got it I called her over to it. She brushed up against it briefly and that was it. Another time, the same thing. It pretty much just sits there. I had read the reviews and really thought my one cat would use it. It is well made and came as described. 7th Heaven for cats This cat brush is attractive to every cat I have had. I have recommended it to other cat owners and their cats also love it. It makes for a great "petting station" since cats can get scratched by the brush at the same time they are getting petted by me. It is an all around great product. It's our cat's "home base"! Our cat is OBSESSED with this thing. She doesnt necessarily use it for self-grooming, but rubs her face all over it all the time, and uses it as her "home base". Shes always near it, and whenever we want to pet her, no matter where she is in the apartment, she runs over to this thing and wants us to pet her near it. I admit, her relationship with this "Feline Fantasy Brush" is kind of odd, but apparently its very important to her! I highly recommend getting one for your cat. They Aren't Interested in it Yet I was pretty excited when one of my cats quickly inspected the feline fantasy brush after I set it up. Her interest was very short lived; Ive had the feline fantasy brush for about 3 weeks and the cats have paid almost no attention to it. I gave this product 3 stars because of my cats lack of interest in it. I thought that the cats would enjoy the feline brush because both of them come running when I wiggle their grooming brush at them. One of my cats also likes to scratch her chin on the soles of my shoes while I have them on; I thought she would take to the product for sure. I havent given up yet, I think that once I show Wheezy how to scratch her head on the feline brush she will take to it. I wont count on T to take to the brush because he is not a normal cat to begin with. Bush and scratch I saw this one on tv.! Perfect! Brushing Moffit is hard, because she came from the streets, and even tho she loves to be rubbed, she doesnt like to be handled much, so this works, and makes sense! Cats love to rub and scratch. My cat loves this! My boyfriends mom had this for her cat and my cat seemed interested in it when we visited. About a month ago I purchased one for her. I was a little unsure - Isobel is often very fickle when it comes to toys, but she immediately LOVED it (and still loves it). I sprinkled it liberally with catnip and she often spends a good hour just lying draped across the carpet base (I have even picked the toy up when she is lying on it and she will not budge). However, she is a bit possessive of it - if I try to touch her new toy she defends her turf. Anyway, I would recommend this product as a great way to amuse a cat. May be good for other cats.... by: jamie_little On: 2006-06-15 This product may work great for some cat owners, but definitely not all. Picked this up at the local PetsMart about 2 weeks ago, but so far my cats arent using it. All they do is knead at the carpeted base (I assume where the catnip is) and chew/bite on the bristles. Yes, I said chew...So far, the bristles are standing up to the assault, but I am wondering if I will have to remove it if they start swallowing bits & pieces. Its great entertainment to watch them, but Im not getting the use out of it that I hoped for. Guess that just shows how personalities differ with these finicky creatures! ;-) May be good for other cats.... This product may work great for some cat owners, but definitely not all. I have two cats, one is 3 years old and the another is 1 1/2 years old. The oldest loves to be brushed. If you leave a hand-handle brush out, she will sit on the handle and rub her face on the brush. The youngest hated to be brushed and I didnt expect her to like this product. As expected, my oldest took to this product the minute it was introduced, the youngest could care less about it. But out of the blue, one night I sat in the floor to brush my oldest and the youngest wanted to be brushed. A couple days later, the youngest was using the product. Since the two of them have a mother-daughter type relationship, I figured the youngest was "patterning" herself after the oldest. Now, they dont walk through the brush like the cat in the picture. They sit in front of it and rub their face and neck. So this product is simply for their enjoyment and does not replace regular brushing. I only regret not buying it sooner They loved it before it was fully out of the box. I was a bit hesitant to purchase this item for my two cats because of the mixed reviews. That said, boy am I glad I listened to my gut because it was right - they LOVE their new fantasy brush. It was very easy to assemble - the ends have plastic nubs that slide right into the base. The bristles are stiff but I did not hurt my hands in the assembly of this brush. The cats were immediately there, rubbing their heads and necks on the bristles. My cats have always loved to be brushed with anything even resembling a brush - they even try to brush themselves by rolling on brushes, lint things, etc on the counter or floor. If your cats like to be brushed so much that they will try to brush themselves, this is a very worthwhile item. I only regret not buying it sooner They loved it before it was fully out of the box. My cats are afraid of this brush I bought it because the description sounded really good. I have corner brushes in my house and cats love them, so I figured they would like this brush. Unfortunately, the bristles are very sharp and they are just scared of it and dont want to go near it no matter what I tried. I'd been looking for something like this... Glad someone sells one! Cats still getting used to it, but with the catnip reservoir in the bottom, she certainly wasnt scared of it. Assembly can be a bit painful - put something over the bristles to push the feet of the arch into the base. |
