My cats ADORE these! When I originally purchased a multipack, these were the last ones I gave my cats, and they turned to be their favorite of all the balls out there! They love the crinkly sound the balls make. They love to pick them up with their teeth and run across the room with them! Hours of enjoyment. On: 2008-12-02
I have two rescue cats -- one a lithe 10-lb Russian Blue, the other a burly, 25-lb silver tabby -- and they both love these things.
As other reviewers have mentioned, these toys are small and crinkly, but surprisingly durable. I would estimate that my smaller cat spends 10 or more hours a day playing, and even he has managed to dismantle only two of the many crinkly balls weve bought him over the year weve had him. He happily fetches them -- even when we throw them downstairs from our loft (great exercise for him and his tubby buddy!). Hes definitely the arbiter of taste in our house where cat toys are concerned, and out of the almost-alarming variety we bought when we got him, these are his absolute favorite (most of the rest, in fact, have been utterly ignored -- though, to be fair, neither of my cats likes catnip).
Its true that these little mylar gems tend to disappear under the furniture -- but the cats usually find them again later on, which they seem to consider a delightful surprise. Then again, for just under $0.50 each in this ten-pack, you can probably afford to lose one or two now and then, recession or no.
My cats definitely prefer the 1.5" balls to the 2.5" version that you sometimes see -- even the big cat, Bruce, only bats the large balls around once in a great while, whereas the smaller balls are in play several times a day. Theyre also festive, and wont clash with your holiday decor.
My recommendation: if you have cats, you need 1.5" mylar crinkly balls. If you need inexpensive holiday decorations, consider the larger ones.

This is one product that we must have for the cat. She will even bring it back to us when we throw it. I think it is the crinkly sound, but it drives her crazy! On: 2007-12-17
I cannot tell you how many of these things I have bought over the past year for my cat. Now they are all hidden all over the house and have yet to be found! She absolutely loves these things. I have noticed in the pet stores these balls come in various sizes. My cat (a petite little thing) prefers the smallest ones, I am guessing because they are the perfect size for her tiny mouth. She will engage in a solitary game of soccer or will play fetch with me. These are a must have cat toy!!!! =^..^= On: 2007-12-12
I have lots of cats and lots of cat toys and these are the very best ones. On: 2007-12-04
These were great for the first 20 or 30 minutes that we had them, then our cat had scattered them around the house and we only saw them randomly after that. But she had fun with them! On: 2006-10-24
I was reluctant to buy these for my cat since i knew how annoying they could be. But of course, she loves them above all other toys! She loves to play fetch with them, and when we hide them from her, shell do anything to get to them! we have about 10 hidden around the house by now. the cat loves them, and youll get used to the noise. Neither of my cats are impressed by these, but both of my guinea pigs LOVE them!! On: 2006-08-27

My cat LOVES these things. Theyre the size of ping-pong balls but theyre crinkly. My cat loves catching them and chewing on them, but theyre surprisingly durable and none have been torn to pieces. The balls are super lightweight and a simple flick will send them soaring across the room - provides great, enjoyable exercise for your cat!
