![]() Midwest Snap?y Fit Water and Feed Bowl with Bracket, 1 Quart By: Midwest Homes for Pets Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 41 More Information Solid, built like a tank but very small More of a cat bowl than a dog bowl. The size is a bit comical for our medium sized dog so we are going to use it for a little food while he is in the crate. It would be too small for water for all but the smallest of dogs. minor flaws Works well at keeping food and water off the crate floor. A easy and solid attachment bracket for the crate. The bowls can be bit tricky to " snap " in , definitely would not want to try it with a full bowl of water so we end up pouring it in after installed on the bracket. Seems sturdy and would be quite difficult for the dog to un-snap the bowl from its bracket. Wish I had ordered 2 My puppy doesnt stay in the crate for long periods of time but when she goes into the crate I can drop her treats into this bowl. Since she is tall I have it mounted closer to the top. When she was a bit smaller she would try to use it as a step and it held her weight fine. It seems very sturdy and mounts easy. I would recommend this product and should have ordered a second one at the same time. One for food, one for water. Midwest Stainless Steel Snap'y Fit Water and Feed Bowl, 10 Ounce I ordered this bowl for my Golden Retriever puppys crate. I was a little worried it would be too small, but it is the perfect amount for a small drink. After all, you dont want to give a pup thats confined too much water! Installation was easy, however it is a little difficult to snap the bowl in. Definitely fill the bowl after installing! chew proof Bought this because our dog chewed up the plastic crate bowl we had. He cant chew thru this one, and it stays put. Havent tried to snap it out of the holder to empty the water out of the bowl tho. I just clean it out with a paper towel then snap it out to wash. Best in class After suffering from spilled water in our puppys crate from a bowl placed on the floor, this was a good solution. We dont leave much water in the bowl (to avoid any crate "accidents" at night), but this stable bowl works well for keeping fresh water available to our pup. Cleans easily, solidly built of good grade stainless steel, and would recommend to others. One minor issue is that if you fill the bowl before snapping it in the holder, some water can splash out. Not a big deal, but I often pour water into the bowl with a cup and only remove the bowl to wash it. Terrific Bowls! I ordered two of the 2qt bowls, and love them! As others have said, they are very well made, and I love the convenience of being able to elevate my dane puppys food and water to appropriate heights inside his kennel. The bowls are held firmly in place, and come out fairly smoothly if you roll them out from one side...dont try to pull them straight out. This is a great product! Great water & feed bowls The 10 ounce is a great water bowl and the 20 ounce is a great food bowl. I bought the two bowls 5 months ago for my little dog who turns her bowls over (even bowls that are supposedly unflippable) & dumps her food & water all over her crate. These bowls are easily installed and remain secured. They keep her water and food fastened at the right height above the crate floor for her to drink and eat out of. It is ideal if you fill the bowl with water while it is in the crate. If you turn the bowl slightly as you remove or insert it the water or food will not spill. These are good quality and easily cleaned. I highly recommend the 10 & 20 ounce bowls for little dogs!Midwest Stainless Steel Snapy Fit Water and Feed Bowl, 10 Ounce Very nice bowls - forget the snap To repeat what others have said, these are nice, sturdy and attractive bowls for wire cages. But, if you need something that is easy to remove, look elsewhere. Excellent Product, Excellent Service This product works just as advertised. It fits in my dogs crate and is extremely easy to install...no tools needed. It stays in place and is easy to remove for cleaning. My dog loves it and I love having no more spilled water in the crate! I used it with the following crate from the same company. They work great together. Midwest 1542 iCrate Single-Door Pet Crate 42-By-28-By-30-Inch (I also added a pad so that my dog had a comfortable surface upon which to lie.) Cat pulled it out the first night... I have a cat I have to cage up at night and he had a habit of dumping his water dish all over the bottom of the cage. Unfortunately this product did not help. He was able to pull the dish out of the wire holder without a problem. I ended up solving the problem with this: Granite Quick Lock Cage Crock - 10oz water dish for a kennel This is well made goes into kennel very easy. I have another dish that can be switched for my larger dog. Great value! just right My bowl just came in, and upon opening it I was surprised by the high quality. All metal, and the rubber coating seems durable. No plastic bits, nothing thin that will break. Secures nicely to our wire crate. I got the 20oz size for my pit-lab mix, since we have a big bowl for when he is not in his crate. I mainly got the bowl because the large one we have takes up room on the floor of the crate, so the dog tends to spill it when trying to get comfy. I also like that the bowl doesnt really snap in, but rather its a very secure sliding feeling, and doesnt wiggle once in place. Hopefully my dog wont wake up wet anymore! Totally GREAT product I thought I would give this bowl a try to go with the new play pen I got for my dog. I have had several other bowls that said they stay attached but they were either not a snug fit or they broke easily (after a very short time). I really thought it was a gimmick and would just be okay like the others, but boy was I wrong. These ROCK!! The ones I have had in the past were plastic and frankly I am trying to rid myself of all that is plastic. I love the fact these are stainless and very easy to clean. I hope they hold up over time, but for now I can not believe how well they hold on to the wire frame (they have a rubberized piece that helps hold in place) and the bowls snap on REALLY tight. I have a pretty active young dog (Border Collie) and she does not even faze the durability. I have 2 and will probably order another set for the kennel I travel with. Hope this helps for anyone thinking about this bowl. You will be very satisfied. Finally a great product that is reasonably priced. Durable, stays secure , good size Ive tried several of these type of bowls and this worked by far the best, staying secure even on a level 3 heavy duty crate with thick guage steel for my escape artist dog! I would definitely buy this again! Works great Great product and works well in my crate. Locks tight and hard to spill even when attached to the front door of the crate. Recommend. Feed Bowl Because of the picture and description I thought I was purchasing two bowls. Its only one but its very nice, sturdy and durable. Great water bowl Im glad I added this product to my purchase. We still keep our pup crated (overnight and while were out) and its ideal to have the water available to her while shes in there with no extra thought or hassle (and No Spills!) It snaps in and out easily but its a snug fit... and you want it that way. I like to snap it in place, then fill it from a cup or her regular water bowl... this way it doesnt spill while I snap it in place. Glad I have it. It seems to be big enough but possibly when our pup is full grown we may need the larger size. Dog Bowls They are good. Depending on your crate you have the wing nuts that screw on on the inside of its crate ( which he chews on ) but cant really do anything to them. Very easy to keep clean. Good size for a large puppy and up to a med size dog. or ( up to 2 cups of food ) The dish is good. I like that it stays put in the crate, but its such a mission to take out without spilling anything. Theres no easy way to take the dish out, and I dont like waiting until the dish is empty to take out. Thankfully, my dogs dont step on their bowls so Im just really using the bowls and the other pieces are just collecting dust. Not easy to refill/use This water bowl is practically useless. You have to unscrew the entire mechanism from the crate to refill or refill by adding water using a pitcher. While it looks like you can pop it off, you really cant. great and sturdy crate bowls i have a 6.2lbs alaskan klee kai, and this has worked out perfectly with my 30"H midwest wire crate. i was a little hesitant to buy this bowl (10oz) because of some of the dislodging issues some people had, but i decided the pros outweighed the cons. i honestly have no clue how crazy someones dog has to be to pull these things out, because i have a hard time sometimes. i believe if your dog is so determined as to getting these out, they must either be a) bored out of their mind or b) hate the crate ... so probably isnt the bowls fault, per se. however, compared to some other reviewers, i do not see the difficulty of getting the bowl out as a bad thing. i WANT it to be hard to take out since i would rather my dog not poke their eyes out on the holders. if you have a certain method (i.e., stabilizing the holder and rotating the bowl in has worked for me) to get a water-filled bowl in, its really not that hard to get it out or in with water inside. (even if you dont want to chance it, unscrewing the bowl out isnt even that hard) they are SNAPPY fit, and if it WASNT hard to get out, id be worried.. so i really dont understand why people are complaining about that. anyway, only bad point for me is that i bought the 10oz thinking it would be plenty, but i have since learned that my puppy is a little camel. might buy the 20oz and use the littler bowl in the travel crate. however, this is not something wrong with the product -- only a problem with my guesstimation ;) so five stars all the way. definitely what i was hoping for with crate bowls. p.s. also, this *reduces* all the water spilled when my dog runs around and tips the bowl. i might get some piddles from her lapping it up messily, but i dont have PUDDLES of water from her tipping a massive bowl. awesome. Bowl difficult to remove from bracket The bowl is very difficult to remove from the bracket that attaches to the crate. I do not use it because of that reason. I wasted my money on this item. Excellent for cage use These bowls are extra sturdy and well-made. The brackets attach easily and very securely to the cage wall and hold the bowls so tightly that my small dog could not possibly dislodge them. Mine is set up with the Midwest Quiet Time Pet Bed, Fleece, 24" x 18" in the Midwest Life Stages Single-Door Folding Metal Dog Crate, 24"L x 18"W x 21"H. The only negative is that the bowls are quite difficult to replace in the brackets without spilling the contents. No problem if they are placed so that they may be refilled easily without removing the bowls. - Not enough of a problem for me to lower my rating. My dog is very comfortable in this setup for daytime naps and for his overnight bed. I always place all his food and water in these bowls. A great price and quick delivery through Amazon with FREE Super Saver Shipping. good idea but dog was able to pull bowl from holder in 5 minutes This product sounded like the perfect solution to keep my dog from dumping her water/food all over her crate. Unfortunately it did not work. She was able to dislodge the bowl from its holder in 5 minutes. If the holder completely encircled the bowl I feel this item would have worked much better but since it only partially encircles the bowl she was able to dislodge it with one pull of her mouth. The bracket did stay attached to the crate but the bowl was too easily pulled away. Too bad. Maybe they will redesign the holder. I did give it 2 stars because the stainless steel bowl was good quality and heavy duty but for the price I paid I expected it to be functional. metal bowl for crate I liked the idea of a slide-in metal crate bowl, but this bowl is too shallow and water spills out of it too easily. That is the main problem with it. love this snap on feeder! This snap-on feeder is wonderful and soooo easy to use. My cats like it too. Oh, and very easy clean-up. Perfect! Easy to install; quality is there. Exactly as I thought it would be. I bought the 2 quart size - and Im glad I did . . . I cant imagine going with a smaller size for my 85 lb dog. This allows for less spillage when filling (since you dont have to fill to the top) - and is just a good size. Allows him more space on the floor of his crate since this takes up no floor space in there. Good, but really hard to remove the bowls I really like the idea of elevating the water bowl in the kennels of my three dogs. My rambunctious and independent Yorkie has a fun time making huge messes for me to clean up after he takes a bath in his water bowl. I bought these to try out and for the most part, I really like them. They are easy to attach to the door of the kennel and hold a decent amount of water. My biggest issue is how difficult it is to remove the bowl. I imagine this is to keep a dog from yanking it off, but I often cant get it off without making a mess. They do snap back into place relatively easy - it is getting them off that is difficult. Overall, I am really happy with the purchase and have three of them. Too tight a fit While this is a good quality bowl, it doesnt work with the holder. The fit is much too tight. It is a struggle to get the bowl into the holder, and more of a struggle to get it out. It is totally useless as one you could put into the holder that was attached to the crate. Anything that is in the bowl would be spilled out when trying to insert the bowl into holder. Great bowl, just bigger than I expected This bowl works great with the Midwest wire kennel. My only problem is that the 1-quart size is bigger than I expected. Its sort of my fault for not just thinking about how big a 1-quart milk carton is, but the dimensions listed made it seem smaller. Review of Snap-y Fit 10 ounce Water and Feed Bowls When I ordered the Snap-y Fit Bowls I thought Snap-y referred to their overall appearance and desirability (snappy). I didnt know I had to snap them out--I thought they lifted out. We have our cats in cages on display at Petco and everyone of the volunteers, as well as I, are complaining about them. When you try to snap them out, they dont want to release unless you pull them very, very hard. When you pull hard, they spill all the water when released. The same thing happens when you put them back. You have to wipe all the water off the bottom of the cage and try to top off what was spilled. The food dish is almost as bad. You have to pull hard and push hard and some of the food spills. When you are reaching inside of the cage and trying at the same time to keep a cat in who wants to get out, you need three hands for this nonsense. In addition, on one occasion, I wrenched my hand very badly while trying to pull the bowl out. It is the worst idea Ive seen in a long time. I bought eight of these bowls for our four cages, and I feel as though Ive been rooked. Some of us have tried to solve the problem by unscrewing the entire setup and removing it from the cage each time, but then the volunteers dont always put them back right, and anyway this takes a lot of extra time. This whole purchase was a complete disaster and Im very angry about it. Must have for dog kennel I have been looking for a water dish that would not spill in my dogs kennel and this one is perfect. So far she hasnt gotten her blanket in the water or dumped it over. She must like it because she drinks out of it when she isnt in the kennel! Well, if I could just use it I think Id like it. Ive never seen glue so tough to get off, and the entire inside of the bottom of the dish is covered by a firmly glued paper insert. Theres also one on the side of the dish, but I could ignore that one. Ive tried soaking in hot water/soap, vinegar, bleach, ammonia (not together), and finally WD-40 all to no avail. The bowl is scratched inside because I had no luck with the no-scratch pads and had to go to heavy duty screech it off with metallic dust ones. So far no luck. Problem solver This is exactly what I was looking for. It is nice to be able to provide water or food or both for you dogs who are crated without worrying about it spilling all over. It is best to fill the bowls after inserting them in the holder because it is a tight fit. Im really glad I made this purchase. Use caution with young dogs I got two of these bowls on sale for a drastically reduced price. They really seemed like a great idea, but their first use proved otherwise. My 12 week old puppy quickly managed to dislodge the bowls from the holders. I didnt really care about the mess, but I did get concerned when she managed to get one of the extension arms of the holders lodged in her mouth while she tried to chew on it. Besides that, the prongs sticking out represent a poking threat to her eyes or the rest of her body. I ended up throwing out the holders and keeping the stainless steel bowls. I Only paid about $5/bowl setup, so the stainless bowls were still a reasonable buy. Puppy Bowls These were the best products. My puppies would always seem to tip over their bowls all the time. These bowls were the best purchase ever it eliminated all messes and allowed their crates to remain clean. Thank you for such a wonderful product. And the prices were great. Nice to know you can still get 2 for the price of one. Thats a rareity these days. My Little Stainless Feeding Bowl This little bowl is very well made and I like it, but I found out there is not much need of a bowl for a baby Dog in a Crate. I thought it might be handy but I only have used it once. It is bright and shiny and easy to install, but really not necessary for me. Too Small. Great Product This is perfect for when you have to crate your dogs for a few hours when you leave the house. It gives our 6 month old puppy and 4 year old dog just enough water until we get home. It was difficult to detach the bowl the first time, but after that its been easy. Also, its very easy to attach to the kennel and once on, it is very secure. I do recommend filling it while the bowl is already in place to avoid spills. I plan on getting a larger one for our puppy when she is bigger (shes going to be between 60-80 lbs full grown) but this size is perfect for our adult dog who is 50 lbs. Easy, Convenient, and Sterile I recently rescued a kitten who was injured by a car. Due to his injuries the Vet requested he be put in a kennel during the days to hinder his movements and increase his rest time. I was afraid to just put food and water dishes on the floor of the kennel where he could tip them over and be stuck laying in his wet soggy food. I saw these online and thought they would be a good solution. They work wonderfully and I love being able to just pull them out and snap them back in without unhooking the whole thing. They only thing I do not like is the water splashes when it snaps back in. But as long as you snap the bowl on and then fill the dish with water from another container it isnt a problem. And I love that they are stainless steel and very sturdy. The kitten is no longer kept in the kennel, but he still uses it as a refuge/bed and of course his still uses these bowls. Great Buy if you kennel your dog or cat. |
