I used this product for many years in combination with Resisoothe conditioner and our dog no longer had hot spots that previously caused intense itching.
Does the job.     On: 2009-11-24

My dog has been using this product for many years. If you have a dog with sensitive skin, Hexadene shampoo really works. Originally recommended by my vet.
Excellent Produce for Dogs with Certain Skin Problems     On: 2007-12-07

Our rescued Shih Tzu had been through a lot... She continued to have what we thought were "hot spots," with licking and some sores. Eventually, she succumbed to Demodex mites, with subsequent life-threatening infections. Part of the regimen prescribed by a dermotologist vet included 3 baths a week (probably not advisable for all breds), allowing her to soak with the shampoo on for 10 minutes to loosen scabs and have maximum effect. We have tried many types of shampoo, with only one other eliminating excessive licking for both our dogs. I do not know if our vet will recommend ongoing use of Hedadene Medicated Shampoo, or just as needed to address the risk of infection associated with mites. So, if you have a dog or cat with similar needs, you might want to consult your vet about this product. For my dog, I am grateful for the results we obtained.
