![]() Automatic 4 Day Pet Feeder (Light Blue) Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 6 More Information Auto feeder This is the best of the auto feeders. My cat cant open it and it is big enough for a lot of food. It works reliably and is heavy duty unlike the cheap catmate feeders (which my cat can open). Two annoyances, to take the cover off and put back on, there are little pins that fasten it and they break off. Eventually Ill attach the covers with a velcro strip. Also you can only program times on the hour. You can get around this by setting the clock a little ahead or behind but if you want the AM and PM time to be at 8 and 5:30 like I do you cant do it. You could use it for wet food as there is space under the top cover for a coldpack. This is also cheaper than the others. Works well for my cat This is a pretty nice autofeeder for a cat or small dog. It was already assembled and only needed 4 C batteries. It did take me a little while to figure out which was a 24 hour period when setting for eating times but otherwise it works nice. My pets didnt care about my voice recording though. My sneaky kitty can figure there is more food in the compartments so she is becoming a little aggressive with it trying to open the other compartments (the dog is her accomplice). It is good for once a day feeding for 4 days or 2x a day for 2 days. You can also set it to start the next day which actually can help you go for five days away if you feed the kitty an early meal the day you leave. It was affordable and I would recommend it. Fits my needs well I bought this feeder for a cat that lives in our hay barn 3 miles from our home. I can feed twice a day now without having to drive to the barn, and the wild critters dont get as much of the food since it is covered until feeding time. It is easy to fill the compartments of the feeder while it is rotating to set itself up for the first feeding as it rotates slowly enough. When it is programmed, the fourth compartment is open and has a sliding lid to cover it. I dont worry about closing this lid, so I dont know how well it does as far as keeping critters out of that compartment. One morning I went to the barn to feed our horses, and there were what looked like skunk tracks all over the top of the pet feeder. The guilty critter was unsuccessful at breaking into the feeder for food that was in the "hidden" compartments. This was a good test of the feeders sturdiness. The feeder makes noise only when the compartments are rotating, otherwise it is silent. I found programming of the feeder to be fairly easy by following the directions. I would recommend this feeder to anyone. Great! I tried two other feeders and they did not work properly. This one is easy to program and works great. It takes 4 C batteries and should last much longer than other feeders. Now I wont have to wake up at 4am to feed my whining cat and I wont have to worry about "starving" him if I decide to go out to dinner right after work. 2 day Dog feeder This is a great feeder that follows regular time using batteries. There are 4 slots that hold food big enough for larger dog food. If you use it to feed 2 meals per day then it will last for 2 days. We use it to feed our dog while being out in the evenings. It arrives in one piece but is easy to take apart and set up the timer for AM or PM time as needed. Good price, no major complaints I looked into getting an automatic cat feeder as my cat needed portion control. He tends to eat too fast making himself sick. I was also tired of getting woken up throughout the night to feed him. This feeder allows me to set the hour I would like him to be fed (for example, 4am!). I had reviewed several automatic feeders before this purchase. I was amazed at how expensive most of them were ($100+) and saw that they had several common complaints. This one is a good price and does the job, so even if there are slight irritations at least you didnt pay an extreme price for it. Here are some features: Feeder does not click the entire time. Some feeders make a clicking noise the whole time. It takes 4 C batteries which are supposed to last a year. Some feeders take double A and need to be changed often, causing you to reset your settings. My cat has not figured out how to break the notch or turn the dial to the next feeding. Some feeders are easy to turn or cats are aggressive and figure out how to hack in. It rotates inside so the next feeding does not come out on a different side. Some feeders have to be placed so all sides are accessible. Allows you to set the time you want. Some feeders only let you feed at 6, 12 or 24 hr intervals. The first tray has a cover, so it does not waste the first slot. I read complaints about other feeders having the first slot open. However, this sliding cover needs to be set slightly loose or Ive found that it does not open during the next rotation. This could cause problems if you cat was eager to eat and could slide the cover over. It allows a personalized voice recording. The recording goes off three times after the tray rotates. This voice recording so far has not made my cat run for the feeder. I still have to guide him to the feeder or he eventually discovers the food. He prefers canned food so he focuses on his other feeding plate. Its only for dry food. It does not have ice packs for canned food. Ive been using this feeder for a few weeks and it is working. This is after some trial and error. The instructions are not the clearest. Setting the digital clock and timer went smoothly. What I had a problem with is how every time I refill the food, I need to tell it to `start tomorrow or `start now. It doesnt just automatically do the same thing everyday. Also, every time you tell it to restart, it starts over to the #1 tray time. It doesnt just start now and go to the next feeding time. It starts over at the first set time. Its also a little difficult to see if the timer is set. It should show an alarm bell. The screen is small. The lid stays on sturdy to prevent my cat from opening the compartment, however it does not lift smoothly. I have to be careful so I dont break the plastic nobs. My cat actually doesnt pay much attention to it so it has not stopped the 4am wake up calls. I think he just wants attention. It mostly helps him be fed the small portions during the day while Im gone. Overall I would recommend. |
